Kitchen Kaboodle partners with cabinet companies who, like us, strive to make a difference in our world by practicing environmental stewardship plans which promote sustainability, safety, and health for future generations. The following are some examples.
Signature Custom Cabinetry are firm believers in implementing sustainability practices not because of government regulations but because they feel that it is the right thing to do as stewards of the environment that we have been entrusted with. They use FSC certified hardwoods and believe that the better you make your cabinets, the longer they will last and the less material you will use. Signature’s artisans and craftsmen are committed to excellence and sustainability. Some examples of these practices are that finishes used in their cabinet interiors and drawer boxes are highly durable water based finishes that contain no formaldehyde, no hazardous air pollutants and no volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). On the exterior of the cabinets, they reformulated all of the finishes resulting in much lower VOC emissions. They have changed methods of disposal of cabinet finishing by-products. They have reduced the amount of packaging material from incoming raw material shipments and wood by products are sent to local farmers to use as cattle bedding.
Executive’s eco-friendly cabinetry is committed to advancing products that affect energy conservation, air quality, and creating healthier homes through renewable sold wood materials with formaldehyde-free adhesives and waterborne finishes. Executive’s cabinetry emits 0% formaldehyde, 0% Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) and 0% Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP). Their cabinetry qualifies for up to 9 LEED certification points in Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and Material Resources (MR). They also qualify for up to 24 NAHB Green Building Standard Points. Executive is a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified manufacturer, has KCMA certified products and are members of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
